About us

Winslow Congregational Church is a community devoted to loving God and neighbor. Our congregation consists of people of diverse beliefs, political opinions, jobs, and family structures united by the love of Christ.

You are invited to worship with us from  10:30 – 11:30 AM  on Sunday mornings. There is Sunday School for children and nursery for infants during the service. Most of us dress informally. We are located at 12 Lithgow Street in Winslow, Maine.

Services consist of singing, responsive readings, community prayer, and a sermon which connects the ancient wisdom of Scripture to the hopes and challenges of modern life. We do take an offering – we use the money collected to support local ministries, our denomination (United Church of Christ) and church operations. If you’re a visitor you are welcome to participate as much or as little as you like: there is no obligation to sing or give money. Come as you are!

Other church activities include a (near) weekly Bible study, volunteer opportunities, and our annual Blueberry festival.

Our building is nestled along the bank of the historic Kennebec River where it has stood since 1796.  Built using timber frame design, this structure served as the town’s first meetinghouse until 1828, when it became the current Winslow Congregational Church.
